About ClassroomX

School software,
built from the classroom.

ClassroomX was started in 2026 by a South African learner who wanted a better school day. Today it runs at Hoërskool Anker, for learners, parents, teachers and leaders.

A note from us

Hi there.

If you are reading this, you probably know what a school day can feel like: messages in one place, marks in another, papers everywhere and important updates trying to find their way home.

Technology was supposed to make that easier. Too often, it simply added another tab, another password and another job to remember.

That question started ClassroomX: what if the whole school could feel like one connected place?

A normal Tuesday, before ClassroomX

The problem

School lifebecame scattered.

Parents searched for updates. Teachers repeated the same admin. Learners moved between disconnected tools. Leaders had information, but not always a clear picture.

The people behind it

A learner anda lifetime in IT.

One of us sees the school day from a desk in the classroom. The other brings more than 40 years of real-world IT experience. ClassroomX needs both.

Renaldo Nel

Founder

Started ClassroomX at 15, as My School Portal: an alternative to the school tools he found frustrating. He leads the product, and still knows what a school day looks like from a desk.

Philip De Villiers

Co-founder

More than 40 years of real-world IT experience. Philip saw the first demo in May 2026, joined as co-founder and helped shape where ClassroomX was going.

What we believe

How we buildClassroomX.

Built inside a real school

Every feature is shaped by Hoërskool Anker’s learners, parents and staff using it on ordinary school days.

One place, not another tab

Notices, homework, marks, fees and forms belong together. Adding ClassroomX should remove apps, not add one.

Made for South African schools

SA-SAMS sync, rand payments and the way local schools actually run are the starting point, not an afterthought.

Your school’s data stays yours

Every role sees only what it should, and processing is POPIA-aligned. Trust is part of the product.

How we got here

Our story, so far.

  1. April 2026

It started as My School Portal

Renaldo built the first version at 15, to fix the school tools he used every day.

  2. June 2026

    Into a real school

Hoërskool Anker became the first school partner. ClassroomX began growing around real classrooms, real families and real school days.

  3. July 2026

    Learning found its feed

LearnFeed brought a short-form, social way for learners to discover educational videos, lessons and updates.

  4. August 2026

    Meet MrX

MrX arrived as an assistant that helps learners engage with schoolwork and find answers inside ClassroomX.

  5. October 2026

    Tuck shop and signed forms

Tap-to-pay tuck shop and e‑signed registration, indemnity and medical forms went live, so less paper goes home in school bags.

Next: report cards, exams, transport and more schools.
